Vyacheslav Samodurov portret     Born in Talinn, he trained at the Vaganova Ballet Academy and joined the Mariinsky Ballet in 1992, where he toured extensively overseas and was promoted to Principal, 1998.
    His repertory included leading roles in Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Nutcracker, Giselle, Jeune Homme et la mort and Petrushka.
    He won the 1996 Maya Plisetskaya Competition and has been the subject of numerous TV documentaries. In 2000 he joined Dutch National Ballet as a Principal, where he expanded his repertory to include works by Ashton, Balanchine, Forsythe, Van Manen, Robbins and Van Dantzig.
    He joined The Royal Ballet in 2003 as a Principal and has danced Voices of Spring pas de deux, Romeo, Prince (Cinderella, Nutcracker), Faun, Orion, Colas, Prince Siegfried, James, Lescaut, Albrecht, Prince Florimund, Spectre de la rose, Devil's Holiday (male solo, pas de deux), Job (Satan's solo) and leading roles in The Four Temperaments, Agon, Symphony in C, Requiem, Rake's Progress and Stravinsky Violin Concerto.
