Larissa Lezhnina portret     Was born in St Petersburg in 1969. She studied at the Vaganova School in St Petersburg from 1979 to 1987. Joined the Mariinsky Ballet in 1987 and was appointed soloist in 1990. She left the Mariinsky in 1994 to join Het Nationale Ballet as a Principal (Dutch National Ballet) in the Netherlands.
    Larissa is taking part regularly in important ballet Gala’s and festivals as Gala des etoiles in Montreal or International Ballet Festival in Cuba.
    She is well known from the broadcast and DVD of Sleeping Beauty with the Kirov Ballet in role of Aurora with partner Farukh Ruzimatov.
    Among her stage partners were dancers as C.Acosta, J.M.Carenno, W.Broeckx, A.Guliaev, F.Ruzimatov, K.Zaklinsky.
    Repertoire with Dutch National Ballet includes: Bayadere (Makarova), Cinderella (Ashton), Giselle (version by Wright), Nutcracker and Mouseking (Eagling and Van Schayk), Onegin (Cranko), Romeo and Juliet (Van Dantzig), The Sleeping Beauty (version by Wright), La Sylphide (version by Bjorn) and Swan Lake (version by Van Dantzig).
